AXIATA ARENA VISIT

ALIFE members had our first venue visit on 7 July 2017. Our host, Mr. Azman Fahmi Osman, CEO of Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) and his team graciously provided members with a personalised and in depth tour of the newly renovated and refurbished KL Sports City, which consists of National Stadium, Putra Stadium (now known as Axiata Arena), hockey stadium and aquatic centre located at the National Sports Complex, as well as building the common infrastructures, including boulevard, parking, steps, new signage and an improved integration to public transportation. Our observation of the space is that it now brings exciting new possibilities in terms of presenting various forms of content to consumers. Although the venue was refitted and renovated primarily with sports in mind, PSM has also ensured the venue is able to cater to a multitude of other forms of events, from large 87,000 seater main stadium, to small 100 pax fashion shows at the National Aquatic Centre through a raised pool floor. Whats more exciting is that the team at PSM has also engaged Total Sports Asia (TSA) to increase its commercial value, finding the right content partners to generate new revenue streams, therefore opening doors to new possibilities in terms of content.
